Who Is Valeria Wasserman – Noam Chomsky? Here’s What We Know About Her

There are celebs who have achieved fame through their personal efforts but in the case of Valeria Wasserman, she rode to the limelight on the wings of her husband Noam Chomsky – a connoisseur of Linguistics popularly known as the father of Modern Linguistics. Very little of her personal details are available but it is known that she has worked in several establishments as an Investment Analyst, a Legal Claims Assistant and a Translator.

Who Is Valeria Wasserman?

The social media is not overflowing with facts about the birth details of Valeria Wasserman neither is there any information about her younger years but we know from a trusted authority that she came into the world in 1963. The exact date of her birth has never been published. We also know that her country of birth is Brazil which makes her a Brazilian national. However, there is absolutely no information on the identity of her parents neither is there any details on her siblings.

Talking about her education, the high school she attended has never been mentioned but it is known that Valeria Wasserman is an alumnus of Universidade Federal Fluminense where she bagged a degree in Law. She also studied languages which included English and Portuguese at the same institution.

Later on, Valeria joined Universidade de São Paulo where she took a specialty in Capital Market Analysis. She then started her career after she was done with her studies and she has contributed positively to many companies to date.

Connection With Noam Chomsky

Valeria Wasserman tied the connubial knot with Chomsky in 2014 which was six years after the demise of his first spouse. There is not much information on the details of their wedding but the records said that they shuttled between Brazil and the United States visiting each other’s family. The couple has spent almost five years together and they are still going strong.

Prior to Valeria’s marriage to Chomsky, he was formally married to Carol Doris Schatz – a fellow Education Specialist and Linguist. They tied the nuptials in 1949 and their union lasted for 59 years till Carol’s death which occurred in 2008. The marriage produced three children namely Harry – a son who was born in 1967, and two daughters; Diana who came in 1960 and Aviva who was born earlier in 1957.

  • Valeria’s first job was as an Investment Analyst

Upon graduation, Valeria Wasserman got her first employment in 1992 as an Investment Analyst with Unibanco – the now-defunct Brazilian bank. She spent three years there and towards the end of 1995, she got another post as Legal Claims assistant with the law office of Corey R. Cutler.

From March 1997, Valeria spent eight months with the law office of Ralph A. Donabed as a Legal Assistant before she made the conscious decision to take a couple of years off work.

  • Professional life after hiatus

She came back to the labor market in July 1999 and Intentia – a software company which functions as a service provider for; supply chain management, customer relationship management, as well as asset management hired her services as an Assistant.

By 2001, she made a foray into Print Translation after her decision to experience other fields apart from legal work. She joined the National Association of Magazine Publishers where she took up the post of a Director’s Assistant in October 2001 but Valeria Wasserman left the position in October 2003. She then took another break for three years and when she surfaced in July 2006, she came as an entrepreneur with her personal establishment Little Faces LLC, in Boston, Massachusetts, though it later became dormant.

It would appear that Valeria Wasserman finally found her forte when she landed at ArtVentures Cultural Projects and Translations as a Translator in July 2009. The company is renowned in providing a platform where artists can interact without the barrier posed by different languages and it also encompassed authors who need the services of a translator or even translators looking for employment.

Moreso, Valeria Wasserman is known to have translated books as well as research papers.
