‘Why Women Kill’ – Cast & Facts About The Darkly Comedy TV Show 

The plot of the CBS dark comedy-drama, Why Women Kill, follows three different women living in different times but in the same house – all dealing with the same issues in their marriages; infidelity of their husbands.

Chronicling the events leading to the deaths of the significant others of the women, the show premiered on August 15, 2019, and it has since then enjoyed massive followership. With a second season on the way, here is all to know about the CBS All Access show.

The Cast Of Why Women Kill

The anthology series has some interesting actors and actresses among its cast. The cast members for the story set in 1963 include who takes on the role of Beth Ann Stanton, the wife of Rob Stanton – portrayed by Sam Jaeger – who is having an affair with April Warner who is played by Sadie Calvano.

Other cast members include and Jack Davenport who are the main cast members of the story that takes place in 1984. For the 2019 story, the main cast members are Kirby Howell-Baptiste, , and Reid Scott. There are also some guest stars who appear in the different periods covered in the show.

Unfortunately, even though these cast and characters are easy to get attached to, their roles in the sensational show have come to an end as they are not going to feature in the next season of the show which is expected to follow an entirely different path.

1. The Plot of Why Women Kill

The show tells the story of three women – Beth Ann Stanton, Simone Grove, and Taylor Harding in 1963, 1984, and 2019 respectively. Set in the same house, all the women face infidelity in their marriages, which they are all trying to deal with in their own ways. At the center of the show is the fact that while many things about women have changed in decades, the way they react to betrayal still remains the same.

While the case for the women living in the ‘60s and ‘80s have to deal with men that are cheating on them, the woman in 2019, who is in an open marriage, deals with a husband who does not follow the terms of their marriage and betrays the trust of his wife.

2. Why Women Kill Season 2 Has Been Announced

Even before the finale of the first season of the show, it was announced that ABC was bringing it back for a second season.

The plot of the second season of the show, as well as the cast, has not been revealed yet. Nonetheless, since it is an anthology, it is known that the plot will not continue with what has already started in the first season neither will the cast and characters be maintained.

Although the second season’s premiere date is not known, it could maintain the same timeline as the first season which was first aired in August 2019. Hence, we may see the second season by August 2020.

3. New Cast Members for Season 2

Long before the announcement for the second season of the show, the creator, who is also behind Desperate Housewives, Marc Cherry revealed that if the show was seeing the light of another season, he will introduce new stars and situations.

Hence, going by this and as revealed by the official release, we will follow another set of casts as they deal with different situations that make women kill. More so, it remains to be seen if women would be picked from different periods as the first season or if they would all appear in the same period.

Ahead of the second season of the dark comedy of love, deception, and death, one can watch or stream the show on CBS All Access.
