Yamimash is a Youtube gamer who had the world at his feet. He started uploading videos in 2009 and started attracting quite a huge following. However, in early 2016, controversy struck. This led to a series of events that saw his growing fame plummet until it was almost non-existent. However, he started putting the pieces of his stumbling career back together in early 2017.

Yamimash’s Bio

The Youtube gamer, Yamimash was born Aaron Ash on August 25, 1991, somewhere in the United Kingdom. When he started uploading videos in 2009, he started out playing only God of War 3. However, he later added Call of Duty to his playing portfolio. In the early days, Yamimash was not much of a fan of commentaries and didn’t bother with them in his videos. But as the industry began to evolve, he decided to give it a try and it clicked with his fan base.

In 2012, Yamimash decided to broaden his portfolio beyond a two-game channel. He started trying out other games, and his popularity exploded again. Even with the increased number of games he played, his preference still leaned towards horror or horror related games such as Slender, Dream of the Blood Moon, White Noise, Hotel 626, MAZE etc.

However, “Mash”, as he is affectionately called by his followers did not only play scary games. His gaming catalog also includes videos for games like Minecraft and Pokémon. Yamimash also provides facecam on almost all of his gameplay.

He is mostly a solo game player, however, he has done a few collaborations with some of his fellow Youtube gamer friends. He has done a lot of co-ops with his friend Edge. They recorded a total of 20 video episodes for the game Bloody Trapland. They also collaborated on Youtube series where they played the horror game Slendytubbies. Their collaboration on Terraria lasted only two episodes.

Another person Yamimash has collaborated with is his friend Shane, known as AaroInTheKnee. He used to be Yamimash’s roommate. They’ve played together on games like Minecraft, Legend of Zelda, and YOGBOX. His Minecraft series with AaroInTheKnee is the longest he has ever uploaded, spanning over 50 videos. At some point, they were joined by yet another friend and fellow horror gamer, . Yami, Edge, and Markiplier also played together on his series for Slendytubbies.

Girlfriend?

There isn’t public information available concerning Yamimash’s dating history. The online gamer has been dating fellow Youtuber Jessica (JessIsAwesomexo) since mid-2013. Yamimash is six years older than Jessica. This is a point that a minor percentage of his fans and general Youtube visitors think is inappropriate. However, the extreme majority of his fans do not see anything wrong with it as they are both legally adults.

Controversies and scandal Surrounding Yamimash

As at the end of 2015, Yamimash’s channel had hit 1.300,000 subscribers and garnered over 250 million views. However, 2016 started on a sour note that ultimately sent his career into a downward spiral. On January 2, 2016, another Youtuber named Keemstar posted a video on his channel that alleged that Yami had sent pictures of his genitals to a 14-year old girl. Yamimash was 24-years old at the time. Keemstar, in his video, said that he got statements from the girl and her mother on a Skype call and that they verified everything she said with the police, child protection services, etc.

This caused a stir and polarised opinions among his followers. However, the majority of them refused to deny Yami’s integrity and defended him saying that the whole situation was a setup. Three days later, on January 5, 2016, Yamimash uploaded a video titled “My Side Explained”. In the video, he was with his girlfriend Jessica. He admitted to having conversations with the girl and even flirting a little. However, he stated plainly that nothing of any sexual nature transpired between them and that he did not send any naked pictures. His girlfriend Jess also backed him up. Also, evidence of the pictures was never brought forward by either the girl or her mother.

He accused the girl of being an attention-seeker who was looking for a way to bring him down. However, he did own up to his part in the debacle and apologized for it.

Yamimash Now: What happened to him?

Yamimash partly weathered the storm brought upon him by the scandal and tried to keep his career alive. He continued to upload videos and keep to his schedule. Unfortunately, the subsequent months saw his subscriber growth grind to a halt and his viewership slow down tremendously. He began to get lazy and depressed, and soon he was not meeting his video upload schedule. At a certain point in 2016, he stopped posting videos altogether.

He finally uploaded a video on February 11, 2017, titled “My Channel Is Dead” where he talked about how the events of the past year had stressed him out and left him depressed and unwilling to continue. He further assured his fans that he had finally turned a corner and would be coming back to Youtube full-time.

Unfortunately for Yami, his relationship did not survive the events of the past year. He released another video a month later where he revealed to his fans that he and Jessica had broken up and that he was moving back into his mother’s house. On March 5, 2017, he put up a video talking about how he wanted to socialize more and do stuff with his life besides Youtube.

Yamimash has since come back to Youtube running on all cylinders, as he uploads an average of six videos every month. On April 1, 2018, he uploaded a video titled “I Quit”. His fans were scared that he was quitting Youtube but it turned out to be a hilarious joke for April fool’s day.
