One of the most popular wrestling acts of recent memory, Chris Jericho is a professional wrestler, actor, and musician. He has been able to keep his music and acting career alive outside the ring, whilst also incorporating that side into his wrestling as well.

Chris Jericho Bio (Age)

Christopher Keith Irvine was born in Manhasset, New York, United States on November 9, 1970. His parents are Ted Irvine, his dad who was a former ice hockey player, and his mom, Loretta Vivian. He has one sibling, a sister Vanessa Gerads.

Jericho started out on the independent circuit and later moved to Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1995. Chris Jericho won the World Television Championship and Cruiserweight Championship after joining in 1997.

The WWE in 2000 produced a documentary on Chris Jericho’s career titled Break Down the Walls. His first appearance in a movie was on June 24, 2006, alongside Scott Bairstow and Joey Lawrence in a  Sci-Fi Channel movie Android Apocalypse

His first stage acting job was in a comedy play Opening Night, which premiered in Toronto. Chris Jericho released a comedy web series on October 29,, 2013 based on his life. The series was titled But I’m Chris Jericho!

WWE Career

The one place Chris has been able to showcase himself to the world the most has been inside a wrestling ring, and the WWE has been one of his favorite playgrounds.

He began training with the Hart Brothers School of Wrestling at the age of 19. He was trained by Ed Langley and Brad Young. After two months he was ready to begin appearing on independent shows, he toured the world from the Americas to Europe to Asia as well. By August 26, 1996, he made his debut with WCW on Monday Nitro against Alex Wright.

He would come to the WWE and debut on August 26, 1999, on the inaugural episode of SmackDown!. During the years that would follow, Jericho enjoyed great success, winning a record nine Intercontinental Titles, seven WWE and World Tag Team Titles and a host of Slammy Awards as well.

His most impressive victory was when he defeated The Rock for the WCW World Heavyweight Title and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for the WWE Championship making him the first Undisputed Champion. He has had to leave the show on multiple occasions to chase down other activities but that has not kept him from returning home. In his most recent spell, he formed a partnership with a co-worker, Kevin Owens, and went on to seize his first United States Championship.

Wife, Kids

Chris is married to Jessica Lee Lockhart. The pair has been married for over a decade,  as they were married on July 30, 2000. They had met while he was performing with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He was introduced to her by a colleague and fellow performer, Disco Inferno. In his book, A Lion’s Tale, Jericho was able to describe in detail how he met his heartthrob.

The marriage between Jessica and Chris has been blessed with three kids, A  son and two daughters. The son Ash Edward Irvine happens to be the first of his siblings, he was born in 2003. Their girls (born in 2006) are a set of twin daughters, fondly known as SiSi and Chey. The girls’ full names are Sierra Loretta Irvine and Cheyenne Lee Irvine.

The kids have featured on Jericho’s podcast, Talk is Jericho.  Chris’s son Ash has revealed his desire to become an ichthyologist, a person who makes research and studies sharks and fishes. The daughters, on the other hand, have a YouTube channel named SiSi & Chey Vlogs and Videos.

Height, Weight

Jericho is a wrestler and as such his physique comes under scrutiny all the time. His billed height is 6’ 0’’ and his billed weight is 220 lbs. Other body measurements are approximately measured as follows, Chest: 42 inches, Waist: 34 inches and his Biceps are 15 inches. Not bad for a wrestler.

Is Chris Jericho Gay?

It is not uncommon for fans to speculate about whether or not a celebrity is straight, gay or bi. Jericho has been married to Jessica Lockhart for 17 years so it is safe to conclude that he is not gay.  He did have a clash with the LGBT community however when he made some offensive comments on stage about Muslims and gay people. He did however apologize but GLAAD referred to it as a hollow apology.
