David Cross is indeed a principal officer in the comedy enterprise. The American stand-up comedian has made a name for himself with his naturally endowed comedic wits which he effortlessly employs in his works. David was motivated to work hard and after his graduation from Northside High School, he moved to New York and worked with a lawn care company. He proceeded to Emerson College Boston where he joined a sketch group ‘This is Pathetic’. After a semester in the school, he dropped out and started to perform stand-up comedy in Boston. Gradually making his way up the comedy scene, Cross started appearing in the comedy scene Catch a Rising Star alongside acts like Louis C.K and Janeane Garofalo.

From there, a sketch comedy group Cross comedy created by David Cross emerged and it’s comprised of 12 performers plus himself. The show which was airing weekly was a big success. While he continues to dish rib-cracking jokes and acts, the comedian has released three recordings; It’s Not Funny, Shut Up You Fucking Baby, and Bigger and Blackerer. In 2016, Cross embarked on his Making America Great Again nationwide stand-up tour. The tour which started from Jan 26, 2016, to April 24 that year was Cross’ first comedy tour in six years.

The comedian also had his presence duly felt in television and film. He created the HBO sketch comedy series, Mr. Show, alongside fellow comedian Bob Odenkirk. Before this creation, he already worked as a writer on The Ben Stiller Show and also won an Emmy award in 1993, for his work on the show. He landed a movie role in Men in Black and also reprised his role as Newton in the sequel Men in Black II in the year 2002.

Cross played the role of Tobias Funke in the sitcom, Arrested Development, which aired from 2003 to 2006. He has appeared in a host of other shows and films over the years. Some of them include Just Shoot Me!, The Drew Carey Show, NewsRadio, Strangers with Candy, Alvin, and the Chipmunks, and many others. His producing and directing skills were also shown in productions like Run Ronnie Run, Freak Show, and others.

David Cross is married to Amber Tamblyn, an actress. The couple who dated for four years became engaged in 2011 after Cross popped the question. A year after their engagement, they tied the knot in 2012. They welcomed a daughter Marlow Alice Cross in February 2017.

David was brought up with the values of the Jewish religion. However, he chose to become an atheist later in life. He has two sisters Juli Cross and Wendy Cross. When he was 10, his father left the family and they had to move from one friend’s place to the other as they had no money to adequately fend for themselves. In all these, Cross kept his passion for showbiz alive and burning. Reports have it that the comedian has not spoken to his father since he was 19.
