Duncan Lacroix managed to eke out an acting career for himself without having to leave his continent. He is in love with every facet of acting, whether it is on-screen or on stage. The actor was born in Welling, Kent, London, England, on December 28, 1971. Duncan spent his formative years and did his early education in London. However, at some point in his early adult life, he decided to leave England. He had always been a lover of acting and as a kid had wished to be an actor. Feeling like his opportunity to make it as an actor was slipping away from him, Duncan Lacroix relocated to Ireland in a bid to kickstart his career.

Before this time, he already had a Bachelors’s degree in Drama and Theatre Studies which he obtained from the Roehampton Institute in London. He pushed further in his education by bagging a Drama and Theatre Masters degree from The National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG).

The actor started his career acting in stage productions. During this time, he was known for plays like Twelfth Night, The Morning After Optimism, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Pinter x 4, and The Ones Who Kill Shooting Stars among others. These productions meant that by the time he decided to transition to the more lucrative on-screen acting, he was already armed with a robust portfolio.

His on-screen debut came in the 2011 television series Primeval. He was the character Neil in an episode of its fourth season. The following year, he was a Karstark soldier on a second season episode of Game of Thrones.

In 2013, Duncan Lacroix was Sergeant Charlie Faulkner in the television documentary A Terrible Beauty. In 2014, the British actor was on two episodes of the hit TV series Vikings where he played Ealdorman Werferth. In the same year, Duncan recorded his biggest television role yet. He bagged the role of Murtagh Fraser in Outlander, a series based on Diana Gabaldon’s book series of the same name.

For the next few years, the actor busied himself with his role on Outlander and did not appear on any other projects. His next movie role came in 2018 and saw him play a minor role in the movie The Sisters Brothers. He followed this up in the same year as Baron Henry de Percy in Outlaw King. The story was set in the fourteenth century and narrated the battle between Scotland’s Outlaw King Robert the Bruce, and the more formidable English army.
