In 1995, he portrayed Teddy Atlas, the legendary boxing trainer in the television film Tyson which is based on the life of the American heavyweight boxer, . He worked in numerous films throughout the 90s with roles in films such as Amateur (1994) as Usher, Rough Riders (1997) as Sgt Hamilton Fish, Fight Club (1999) as the mechanic, and Three Kings (1999) as captain Van Meter.

From 2000 to 2010, Holt McCallany lighted up our TV screens with his very strong on-screen presence and impressive performances. He is an amazing actor who can play different roles both in films and television shows. Some of his outstanding works include the 2002 film Below, Freedom (2000-2001), CSI: Miami (2003-2005), Monk (2004), Against the Ropes (2004), Criminal Minds (2006), Heroes (2007), Vantage Point (2008), A Perfect Gateway (2009), and The Losers (2010).

His father was Michael McAloney, an actor and producer. He lived from 1924 to 2000 and is best known for his Tony Award-winning production of Brendan Behan’s Borstal Boy – the first Irish production to win top honours on Broadway.

Holt married his longtime girlfriend, Nicole Wilson in 2006. Wilson was born on June 21, 1985, to an actor father and a psychologist mother in New York City. Like her husband, she is a film, television, and theatre actress but is also an artist. Her on-screen works include All My Children, As The World Turns, Law & Order, and The Good Wife.
