Jenny McCarthy is an American actress, model, comedian, and television personality. Jenny has risen through the ranks, from simple modeling gigs to hosting her own talk show, Jenny has had an adventurous career. Jenny McCarthy was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois on November 1, 1972. She was born into a hardworking Catholic family and the second of four daughters born to Linda and Dan McCarthy. Her mother was a courtroom custodian and her father was a steel foreman. Her siblings are named Lynette, Joanne, and Amy. Jenny attended Moher McAuley Liberal Arts High School during her schooling days which were not necessarily the easiest as she has revealed that she was bullied. She also spent a couple of years at Southern Illinois University.
When she graduated from college in 1993, Jenny was offered a chance to pose for Playboy Magazine in that years’ October issue. She was offered $20,000 for the shoot. She accepted the offer and went on to be named the Playmate of the Month of October 1993. The pose had a theme that centered around her Catholic upbringing and had a schoolgirl side to it. Jenny was paid further $100,000 at the end of the year when she was made Playmate of the Year.
McCarthy reveals that the pose was not received well by her Catholic friends. Her immediate family didn’t take kindly to her appearance on a platform that celebrated values alien to her upbringing.
McCarthy was able to leverage on her newfound fame to help kick-start other adventures in her life, moving to Los Angeles to host a Playboy TV show. From there, she worked with MTV on the dating show Singled Out. She made appearances on the platform of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Jenny began hosting her own self-titled show, The Jenny McCarthy Show in 1997. She has worked with NBC on the second season of Love in the Wild in 2012 and later on returned to television with her own show again.
Another gig came along in 2013, hosting The View, a daytime talk show. McCarthy has made appearances in various films including Scary Movie 3 as well as the TV series, Two and a Half Men.
