Ximena Duque was born on the 30th of January 1985, in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. When she was a teenager, her family relocated to Miami, Florida. Upon reaching America, Ximena developed an interest in acting an began studying to become an actress. She also learned to neutralize her accent. In a bid to kick off her acting career, Duque became one of the members of the reality TV show, Protagonistas de Novela, a show that sought to discover new talents. Alongside Ximena Cordoba, Duque became one of the breakout stars of the show. By 2005, she had begun acting professionally.

Ximena Duque made her acting debut in Soñar no cuesta nada and went on to book recurring roles in numerous other telenovelas. Some of her notable telenovelas include; Bella calamidades, La Casa de al Lado, and Corazón Valiente. For the later, she earned her first ever award – two Premios Tu Mundo Awards for The Perfect Couple and The Best Kiss both shared with Fabián Ríos.

She briefly ended her contract with Telemundo in 2015 to appear in Hollywood’s Days of Our Lives but would return in 2016. She made her feature film debut in Primero de Enero. Ximena Duque in December 2017 as part of the “Me Too” movement – that she was once a victim of sexual extortion. She revealed that a film executive asked her for sex in return for a leading role but she declined.

Her Parents

Ximena Duque’s parents are named Clara Giraldo (mother) and Germán Duque (father). Her parents have been fully supportive of her career over the years and have on a couple of occasions, supported her on the red carpet in the promotion of her films. Ximena has a brother named Andy.

On several occasions, the actress has posted photos of her parents on her social media page. Unfortunately, her father passed away in March 2018, just a couple of months after Ximena welcomed her second child. On the brighter side, Ximena got to fulfill her lifelong dream of walking down the aisle with him on her wedding in 2017.

Ximena’s dad passed away following a brief illness. Her mother Clara is quite active on social media and runs an Instagram account where she boasts over 27,000 followers. She mostly posts photos of her grandchildren. Like Ximena, she took to the page to post a tribute to her husband Germán upon his passing.

Ximena Duque is married to Florida businessman, Jay Adkins. They got engaged in December 2016 and in June 2017, they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony. In addition to being a businessman, Jay Adkins is also a speaker, author, and as a result, a mentor to many burgeoning entrepreneurs. He occasionally dedicates his time to philanthropic activities.

Ximena and her husband welcomed their first issue together on the 14 of January 2018, a baby girl named Luna. Following her arrival, the Instagram-loving couple took to the photo-sharing platform to share photos of themselves holding their baby’s feet. The actress took to the caption section of the post to reveal that she had a complicated labor that lasted for about 40 hours. She also shared tips with  on how she stayed fit and managed her diet throughout her pregnancy.

Luna is Ximena’s second issue. Before her marriage to the Florida businessman, she had a son named Christian in 2004. The child came from her relationship with Christian Carabias whom she dated from 2003 to 2008.

Before her marriage to Jay Adkins, Ximena Duque was in a relationship with fellow telenovela star, Carlos Ponce. Their relationship lasted for about 6 years from 2010 to 2015. They had been cohabiting in the relationship and called it quits because Carlos relented in proposing to her.
