Yvonne Strahovski was born Yvonne Jaqueline Strzechowski on the 30th of July 1989. She had changed her surname from Strzechowski to the phonetic pronunciation Strahovski when she relocated to America. Strahovski was raised in Werrington Downs, Sydney, New South Wales where she was born to Polish immigrants Piotr Strzechowski, an electronic engineer, and Bożena, a laboratory technician. Strahovski speaks fluent Polish.
Yvonne showed a passion for acting as a young schoolgirl and by the age of 12, she had begun to take acting lessons. Attending high school at Santa Sabina College, Yvonne once played the part of Viola in a school production of Twelfth Night. Despite her involvement with acting, Yvonne remained an outstanding academic student; she was a straight-A student.
Following high school, she attended the University of Western Sydney’s Theatre Nepean from where she graduated in 2003. She then founded a theater company and kicked off her professional acting career in Australia.
