The former bachelorette Emily Maynard Johnson could be described as a larger-than-life personality. Best known for her performances on the Dating Game Shows, The Bachelor in 2011, and The Bachelorette in 2012, Emily has lived a life of loss, pain and despair. Fortunately, she has bravely endured all her suffering.

Only a few years after her dating game adventures, she has finally found love. Here is everything you need to know about Emily Maynard Johnson and her husband.

Emily Maynard Johnson – Who Is She?

Emily Maynard Johnson is not only a bachelorette graduate, although she has moved into the spotlight after her appearance in the reality TV series. In addition to her screen personality, she is a wife, mother, author, event planner, businesswoman, and vlogger.

Johnson was first born on February 1, 1986, in Morgantown, West Virginia. Before her television celebrity, she volunteered at Levine Children’s Hospital and the Hendrick Marrow program. She is also the author of I Said Yes: My Story of Heartbreak, Redemption and True Love and has her own jewelry line.

TV Career

Emily was first introduced to the Dating Game Show in 2011 as a contestant in season 15 of The Bachelor, and also played in The Bachelorette. She was engaged in the shows twice, although none of the relationships lasted longer than a commercial break.

On her first appearance on the reality TV series, she won the final round and was engaged to Brad Womack, a two-time bachelor, in 2011, but the two broke up shortly after. In 2012 she got engaged for the second time, this time to the season’s bachelorette winner, Jef Holm, a skateboard entrepreneur. This was also not to last, as it ended a few months later.

Relationships

The love story of Emily Maynard Johnson is quite an interesting one. She has had three relationships in which she never went to the altar, although she was involved in all of them. She would have been married for a long time and might not have been known to us as “The Bachelorette”, as it would not have been necessary to appear in the show if an unfortunate accident had not taken her fiancé. The reality TV personality was engaged to NASCAR racer Ricky Hendrick, who died in a plane crash on October 24, 2004, six months after her engagement.

Shortly after his death, Emily found out that she was pregnant with her daughter. She had her daughter on June 29, 2005, and named her Josephine Riddick “Ricki” Hendrick, after her late father.

She became engaged to Womack in The Bachelor (season 15) and then to Holm in The Bachelorette (season 8).

A few years away from her Bachelor adventures, Emily finally found a place to call home, a heart to call in the most appropriate places we would add – the church and also her hometown. Sometimes what we are looking for so far away could be right under our noses. After two failed relationships, she found the right thing, and at one point she thought she would be a single mother forever.

She met Tyler Johnson, her husband before she became a bachelorette. As she revealed in her book, Tyler suggested that they should go out if she wasn’t engaged after the show, but she was, twice. As all engagements faded away, it was Emily who finally asked him out. They picked up where they left off, in a really quiet drive. Finally, on June 7, 2014, Emily Maynard made a commitment to Tyler for the first time in her life, and since then the two have lived happily together for the rest of their lives.
