Andrew Austin Luck was born in Washington, D.C., on the 12th of September 1989. Due to the nature of his father’s job, the family lived in different places during his early years. Luck spent his formative years in London, then Frankfurt, Germany, before the family, returned to the United States to settle in Houston Texas.

Back in Texas, he attended Stratford High School, where he started playing the game of football, first as a defensive end and later as a quarterback. He had offers from schools like Northwestern, Virginia, Rice, Purdue, and Oklahoma State, but he chose Stanford over them all and began his college under coach Jim Harbaugh. Luck redshirted during his freshman and returned the following season as the team’s starting quarterback replacing Tavita Pritchard, who held that position the previous season.

Andrew Luck is the son of Oliver Luck, (a former NFL quarterback who played for the Houston Oilers from 1982 to 1986). His mother’s name is Kathy. Luck is the first of their four children. He has one brother (Addison) and two sisters (Mary Ellen and Emily).

Mary Ellen like her older brother attended Stanford where she played volleyball. His brother studied at The American School, London, and currently resides in West Virginia. Emily is currently studying at Stanford.

Luck has been in a long time relationship with Nicole Pechanec. Nicole is also a Stanford graduate and captained the gymnastics team and was named a team MVP as a Senior.
