Kendu Isaacs Biography (Age)
Kendu Isaacs was born on August 14, 1968, in Manhattan, New York. While both of his parents are known to be African American, there is nothing much available in the public domain about them. More so, there is no information as regards his childhood and education that he has made available to the public.
Isaacs has been a manager and producer. He is someone who has also been around celebrities for some time and because of that, he has dated a number of them in the past. His love story has the names of people including Kimora Lee Simons, Lauryn Hill, and Nia Long. Also, the Queen of hip-hop soul is not the only queen he has dated as there was also Queen Latifah among the celebrities Isaacs has gone out with.
More so, before Blige, Kendu Isaacs was once married to a woman identified as Maurine. While it is not known when they married, it is known that the union came to an end in 1999 after two children – Nas and Jordan. From yet another relationship that he had when he was a teenager, the producer also had a daughter.
Relationship With Mary J. Blige
Martin “Kendu” Isaacs first met the singer in 2000 after his first marriage had ended. Although he later became her manager, they dated until 2003 when they got married. Even as it was his second marriage, it was the first time that Mary would walk down the aisle, and thus far, it remains the only time.
As they would later reveal in an interview, while they dated for close to a couple of years, the two maintained strict abstinence because according to Isaacs, sex before marriage is fornication while according to the singer, it was one way that he proved to her that he loved her by abstaining for over a year.
After they got married, they worked towards making their marriage work by laying the strict rule of not having friends of the opposite sex. Hence the only friends Isaacs had were men while the only ones Blige kept were female.
Unfortunately, the marriage hit the rocks in 2016 when they separated on the grounds that Kendu Isaacs was cheating on his wife for more than a decade. The woman he was alleged to have had an affair with was LaNeah Menzies who is also a singer Blige took as her protégé. Known by the stage name of Starshell, Blige claimed that Isaacs spent as much as $420,000 on her.
While the older singer was claiming her husband was having an affair with the younger singer, Isaacs was alleging that it was Blige who was, in fact, having an affair with the younger singer. He insisted that his wife was a secret lesbian, an allegation that did not hold for a lot of people.
After close to two years of legal battles, the No More Drama singer saw the end of the drama of her marriage with an out-of-court settlement in June 2018. Details of the settlement were not made public.
Kendu Isaacs’ Kids
In his marriage to Mary J. Blige, Kendu Isaacs did not have any children. However, as already pointed out, he has three kids from two separate relationships in the past; two from his first marriage and one from an affair dating back to his teenage years.
His eldest child is a daughter, Briana Latrise, who after the second marriage of her father came to an end, took to social media to blast him for not caring for her.
