Ruth Kearney is the definition of a proper actress; she’s got the skill, command, poise, and even the certificates to prove just how ready she is to take on her career. Since she kick-started her professional acting career, the well-taught actress has jumped in with both feet and is navigating the waters of the entertainment industry like a fish in the water.

She was born Ruth Delia Kearney on November 11, 1984. Ruth is Irish by descent, thanks to her parents. Information about her childhood and teenage years are not available online. However, what is known is that the actress spent the first five years of her life in London. Subsequently, her parents relocated the family to Dublin, Ireland.

Kearney’s education saw her attend St. Andrew’s College, Blackrock. She then went on to Trinity College, Dublin to study drama and classics. She was exceptional here and graduated with honors from the institution. Next, she moved on to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School from where she graduated in 2009.

Like many before her, Ruth Kearney’s career began on stage. She was on a few stage productions like Man of Mode, On the Razzle, Oh! What a Lovely War, Three Sisters, and Othello.

In 2009, Ruth got her first on-screen roles when she was cast in two television movies, Gracie!, and Booky’s Crush. She played Miriam in the former and a party guest in the latter. Two years later, in 2011, she joined the cast of Primeval, playing her biggest television role. She played the role of Jess Parker in the fourth and fifth season of the series, totaling a 13-episode run for the actress.

She continued to make guest appearances on other television and movie projects. Some of which include Holby City (2011); Fast Freddie, the Widow and Me (2011); Covert Affairs (2012); and Jet Stream (2013).

In 2014, Ruth Kearney made a guest appearance as Katharina in Tyrant, a political drama from FX. The following year, she was brought on to play the recurring role of Daisy Locke in the final installment of Fox’s psychological thriller, The Following.

Kearney continues to build her portfolio of big brand collaborations, this time with Netflix. She was given the lead role as London in the Netflix Original, Flaked. On the series, Ruth’s character, London, finds herself in a love triangle with David Sullivan’s and ’s character. The series was Ruth Kearney’s first major comedy television series and on March 11, 2016, the streaming service premiered all eight episodes of the show. She also reprised the role in the second season, although it was ordered for a lesser number of episodes than the first installment.

In 2017, Ruth also played a recurring role as Becca Morgan in Get Shorty, a comedy thriller from ePix. She was also a cast of the short video, Taco Bell: Web of Fries II – Franchise Wars in 2018. She played the role of Clara.

By reason of her romantic relationship with Theo James, Ruth joins the ranks of celebrities married to fellow celebrities. Her husband, is the handsome Brit from the popular The Divergent series trilogy. He plays the lead role of Tobias Eaton. He was also on other popular movies including two installments from the Underworld franchise with , as well as Netflix’s How It Ends.

Ruth and Theo have been together since 2009 and finally decided to make it official after dating for 9 years. They tied the knot on August 25, 2018, at Islington Town Hall.

2. They Met in Acting School

Apparently, these two love birds met in the course of pursuing their dreams – acting. They are both thoroughly certified actors. Theo and Ruth Kearney were both students at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School around the same period.
