In a bid to follow her dreams, she relocated to New York in pursuit of a career as songwriter/singer. In the middle of her musical journey, she got acquainted with Jeremy Lloyd – another aspiring musician. The duo pulled their resources together in 2013 and came up with the band called Marian Hill – an American songwriting duo with Samantha as the vocalist while Jeremy functions as the production artist. Their first EP simply titled “Play” came to light in 2013 and featured Steve Davit – a popular jazz musician.

The inspiration for the name of their music band was taken from their high school performance of The Music Man where Samantha portrayed the character of Marian while Jeremy was cast as Harold Hill.
