Everything You Need to Know about the Wrestler

Her Wrestling Career

Tamina first began wrestling, following the footsteps of her famous father and brother into the world of professional wrestling in 2009 which was after she received the first Lia Maivia Scholarship to train at the Wild Samoan Training Center in Minneola, Florida. She signed to WWE in late 2009 and was assigned to its developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling in 2010.

She made her wrestling debut in May 2010 as a heel (villainous character) on an episode of Raw alongside The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) against The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd, and Natalya) and her singles debut against Natalya in June of the same year ended in a no contest. Tamina has gone on to compete in other platforms of WWE such as NXT and SmackDown on which she defeated the two-time women champion, Natalya in January 2012. The victory against Natalya spurred her on to further victories though mostly in tag teams.

Apart from fighting in tag teams and acting as valets for other wrestlers, she also took on the role of Divas Champion AJ Lee’s bodyguard in 2013. Moreover, Tamina Snuka fought as a member of the female wrestling group Team B.A.D (Beautiful and Dangerous) made up of herself, Naomi, and Sasha Banks. The team disbanded in May 2016. She also fought in WrestleMania and WWE Divas Championship.

Her Love Life

The WWE Diva has been married once upon a time in her life. She was the wife of Brandon Polamalu from 1995 to 2003 with whom she has two daughters, Milaneta and Maleate.

She supposedly had a relationship with fellow wrestler, Santino Marella after she started flirting with him in August 2010. Following the rumor of their dating, Tamina acted in ways that lent credence to their alleged romance by assisting Santino on occasion to avert an attack against him by The Usos. She also joined him to celebrate his victory over Zack Ryder in October 2010 as well as making a backstage appearance with Santino and Vladimir Kozlov in a November 2010 episode of Raw where she serenaded and kissed him.

Additionally, she began an on-screen relationship with Santino, accompanying him and his partner as well as becoming their official valet. They had also fought in a mixed tag team where they won against Maryse and Ted DiBiase Jr.

She is an Actress

Although wrestling can be accredited as acting of some sort, and Tamina Snuka having featured in a number of episodes could take up the title of an actress, she has actually acted. She made her acting debut in the 2014 film, Hercules, alongside Dwayne Johnson, and has appeared in a few episodes of some TV shows such as Total Divas and WWE Tough Enough as herself.

Tamina is Related to the Wrestling Icon, The Rock

Tamina refers to The Rock as her cousin. Are they related then? What could one say to the fact that Dwayne also referred to her late father as an uncle when he announced the news of his death. Caught by the curiosity flu, we went on a dig to see if there could be any trace of a relationship between them, even distantly.

Here are our findings. Dwayne is known to be from the Anoaʻi dynasty from America Samoa which is known to be a progenitor of professional fighters and wrestlers. Roman Reigns and Naomi also belong to the same lineage. Tamina, on the other hand, is linked to the same family by the virtue of her mother whose dad was a chief in Western Samoa. Now, you can connect the dots.

Height, Weight, Body Measurements

Tamina has maintained a well-built physique over the course of her wrestling career. She has become a well-rounded figure in sports even though she has not been able to win a title yet, she has rebounded after every injury, stronger and better than her previous form. These attributes have been supported by her 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) tall frame and her body weight of 170 lbs (77 kg). Her body measurements are 36-26-36 inches.
