Barbara Windsor was born Barbara Ann Deeks, the only child of Rose (née Ellis) and John Deeks, on the 6th of August 1937 in Shoreditch, London. She attended Our Lady’s Convent in Stamford Hill and then the drama, dance, and education school, Aida Foster School in Golders Green, Barnet.
Windsor proved to be a very talented performer from a young age as she was able to make her stage debut at the age of 13.
