Bayley is the ring name of American-born professional wrestler Pamela Rose Martinez. After landing a developmental contract with the WWE in December 2012, she performed under the company’s developmental division WWE NXT from 2013 to 2015.

Bayley was eventually called up to the WWE main roster in 2016 where she performs under the WWE Raw brand. In her blossoming career as a professional wrestler, Bayley has won the NXT Women’s Championship as well as the WWE Raw Women’s Championship title.

Bayley (Wrestler) Bio

The WWE star was born Pamela Rose Martinez on June 15, 1989, in Newark, California, USA. As a teenager, Martinez was active in several sports and went on to become the captain of her high school basketball team. However, she took a special interest in wrestling at a very young age and by age 11, she began to frequent shows by California-based wrestling promotion Big Time Wrestling.

In April 2008, then 18-year old Martinez delved into professional wrestling as she enrolled in wrestling training classes. In September 2008, she had her debut match with Big Time Wrestling under the moniker ‘Davina Rose’. She remained with Big Time Wrestling until 2010 when she branched out to other wrestling promotions on the independent circuit. In December 2012, Martinez signed a developmental contract with the WWE.

Her WWE Career

In January 2013, Martinez marked her debut at a live event of WWE NXT, a Florida-based developmental territory. For her debut, Martinez wore a mask to the ring and also adopted the ring name ‘Bayley’. She made several unsuccessful attempts to clinch the WWE NXT Women’s Championship title in her debut year.

On August 22, 2014, Bayley defeated Sasha Banks at the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event to clinch her very first NXT Women’s Championship title. She equally put up a successful title defense opposite Banks at the NXT TakeOver: Respect event on October 7, 2014. During her 223-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion, Bayley defeated contenders such as Alexa Bliss, Eva Marie, and Carmella. Her reign was brought to an end on April 1, 2015, when she was defeated by Asuka at the NXT TakeOver: Dallas event. She made one unsuccessful attempt at reclaiming the title in her final WWE NXT match on August 20, 2015.

Bayley made her WWE main roster debut on July 24, 2016, at the Battleground event as the tag team partner of her longtime rival Sasha Banks. She marked her official debut for the WWE Raw brand on August 22, 2016, where she put up a challenge for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship title. After several unsuccessful attempts, Bayley eventually clinched the WWE Raw Women’s Championship for the first time on February 13, 2017, after defeating Charlotte Flair. She successfully defended her title at the Fastlane (2017) event and also at WrestleMania 33.

At the Payback (2017) event on April 30, Bayley lost the WWE Raw Women’s Championship title to Alexa Bliss bringing an end to her 76-day reign. The WWE star also competed in the inaugural WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal match held during the WrestleMania 34 pre-show on April 8, 2018; she was the last contestant to be eliminated by the eventual champion Naomi.

Who Is Her Boyfriend?

The beautiful WWE star is not officially hitched at the moment, however, her days as a single woman may just come to an end soon. In November 2016, Bayley got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Aaron Solow. Also a professional wrestler, Aaron Solow performs in the independent wrestling circuit and the couple met each other back in 2010 while attending wrestling classes in California.

1. Growing up, Bayley’s interest in wrestling was hugely influenced by WWE stars such as The Hardy Boyz, The Rock, Lita, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Trish Stratus among several others.
