DeChambeau was born Bryson James Aldrich DeChambeau on the 16th of September, 1993 in Modesto, California where he lived until the age of seven when his family moved to Fresno, California. It was during this time that he began playing the game of golf, attending Clovis East High School where he was a part of the school’s golf team. At the age of 16, in his sophomore year, DeChambeau got his first taste of victory by winning the California State Junior Championship.
Upon graduation from high school in 2012, Bryson DeChambeau accepted an athletic scholarship to attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. While majoring in physics, he competed for the school’s golf team and became the first person from the school to win the NCAA individual championship in June 2015.
