Kevin Durant’s Height, Weight, Body Stats And Measurements

His name is Kevin Wayne Durant and he was born on September 29, 1988. Don’t mistake him for the actor, Kevin Durand, that’s a whole other ‘Kevin’ for another day. Let’s get in touch with our inner athletic being today as we check out the famous basketball player. Just before we dive into details about Kevin Durant’s height and his other distinctive stats, here’s a little information about him.

Well, let’s just say his basketball career began a while before he joined the NBA, he played two years of high school basketball at National Christian Academy and one year at Oak Hill Academy, before being transferred to Montrose Christian School in his Senior year. Even then it was evident that he was destined for great things, he was regarded as the second-best high school prospect of 2006.

It was not long into his College career that he officially declared for the 2007 NBA draft and since then he has been a hit, back-to-back.

Kevin Durant’s Height

This is an easy one, the basketball player is insanely tall, so tall that in his senior year of high school, he was already towering at 6 feet 7. This obviously means he has grown taller over the years. Despite the glaring fact that Durant’s height is one of his distinctive features, there have been tons of speculation that, like a handful of other NBA players, he is not too honest about his height.

This one is a first timer guys, apparently the athlete is actually taller than he says he is. That’s a new one, usually we have people going in the opposite direction. No, he isn’t ashamed of it, the thing is, Durant’s height has to be downplayed in order for him to play his position. He is listed as 6 feet 9 inches but is actually 6 feet 11 inches tall.

Here is what he had to say on the topic to The Wall Street Journal’s, Chris Herring , ‘But really, I’ve always thought it was cool to say I’m a 6-9 small forward, really, that’s the prototypical size for a small forward. Anything taller than that, and they’ll start saying, ‘Ah, he’s a power forward.’ The rules of the game have changed since he joined but we guess old lies die hard.

He also said,’ For me, when I’m talking to women, I’m 7 feet, in basketball circles, I’m 6-9.’ Celebrities that share Kevin Durant’s height, the real one, are Tim Duncan, Kevin Darnett and Dwight Howard, it’s no shocker that they are all basketball players.

Kevin Durant’s Weight

With all that height, you better believe there’s a whole lot of weight, but not in a bad way though, taller people are actually heavier than their shorter counterparts. Anyway, there’s a whole story here, and it just goes to prove how dissatisfied we are as humans. When Durant was first listed in the NBA, he was quite ‘slender’, OK we’ll say it, he was skinny.

The media made a fuss, the fans made a fuss, the words, ‘he needs to bulk up. If he put on some weight he would be unstoppable!’ were often used. When he finally did put on a few pounds, he suffered an injury that kept him off the court for a whole season. So that was an unfortunate twist of events, and now there’s a majority of people complaining about him ‘bulking up’.

He currently weighs, 109 kg and he is not in anyway overweight or underweight. It’s common knowledge that as an athlete it would be crazy not to have a structured diet and workout regimen. Durant has one and most of the routines he does are designed to develop both mobility and strength.

Not only does he workout, but he eats right, before his games, he goes for fish and vegetables to fuel his stamina and afterwards he indulges in something more filling like steak or chicken with rice. Fruits, water and complex carbohydrates (e.g oats) are also an integral part of his diet and he takes lots of yogurt in order to stock up on that good bacteria.

Kevin Durant’s Body Stats And Measurements

We couldn’t just leave it at Kevin Durant’s height and weight, we also have some other statistics here for you. His chest is 43 inches, his waist is 35 inches and his biceps are 15 inches.

Also, the athlete wears a US size 16, a European size 50 and a UK size 15.5. We cannot imagine how hard it must have been for him to find shoes before he was famous, but it’s all working out now.
