The talented Paul Richardson is a football wide receiver currently playing for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). Before his fame and fortune through sport, Paul Richardson was already a breakout star when he was on his football team at both Los Alamitos High School and Junipero Serra High School. Due to his impressive performance on the field in terms of skill and speed, he was selected for the first team All-Pac-12 at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Paul Richardson – Bio
Paul Richardson Jr. was born on April 13, 1992, in Los Angeles, California. His father Paul Richardson Sr. signed with the Philadelphia Eagles when he was much younger. He later moved to Los Alamitos High School, located in Los Alamitos, California.
The young boy was very active as an athlete in high school; he was a letterman on the school’s basketball team and also ran track and field. His record on the track includes 21.0 seconds in the 200-meter race, 40.66 seconds in the 4×100, and a personal career-best of 10.62 in the 100-meter race. As for football, Paul had 28 touchdowns and 110 receptions over 1,948 meters.
College Football Career
After graduating high school, Paul Richardson was initially accepted into UCLA, but after being involved in a pickpocketing offense with his cousin Shaquille Richardson and one of his teammates, Josh Shirley, they were arrested for the crime, which led to Paul’s dismissal from the football team. After this ordeal, he transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder in 2010, where he played a total of 12 games, with a record of 6 touchdowns and 34 receptions over 514 yards.
In 2011, as a sophomore at the university, Paul scored five touchdowns and 39 receptions over 555 yards in a total of nine games. Unfortunately, he missed the 2012 season due to an injury in the ACL but recovered in time for the 2013 season, where he was able to act as a starter and set the record for receptions in a season of 1201 yards. As a result of a great season trip, Paul Richardson then declared his intention to be drafted into the 2014 NFL Draft.
NFL Draft And Pro Career
Fortunately, he was selected in the second round (45th in total) by the “Seattle Seahawks” in the 2014 NFL Draft. In his rookie season with the Seattle Seahawks, Richardson finished with a touchdown and 29 receptions for 271 yards. In one of the games of the Seattle Division’s first playoff against the Carolina Panthers, Paul Richardson went down for 21 yards after only one reception. It was suspected that he had sprained his knee, but it was later determined that the ruptured ACL was a recurrence after further diagnosis.
In 2016, Richardson recorded a one-handed touchdown catch on 4th and goal and three catches over 48 yards in the wild card round of the playoff against the Detroit Lions. 2017 happened to be a good year for the champion, as he had the best season of his career with highs in receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns. On March 15, 2018, the Washington Redskins signed a five-year, $40 million contract with Paul Richardson.
