The husband of Elizabeth Banks is none other than Max Handelman, a sports journalist, and blogger whom she met on September 6, 1992, on her first day in college. After a long relationship, they married in 2003.

Together they founded the company Brownstone Production. Banks and Handelman have two children, sons Felix and Magnus Mitchell, born in March 2011 and November 2012 respectively through surrogacy. After their marriage to Handelman, Banks converted to Judaism.

Max Handelman, born May 3, 1973, in Portland, Oregon, had worked as an investment banker for a short time before becoming a director at News Corporation, where he helped found the fantasy football division of FOX Sports. He is a fan of the Portland Trail Blazers.
